After years of wondering if I would ever play the Tex Murphy games again, last spring following your instructions voila I was in heaven. The last time I played was in July and everything worked seamlessly but when I booted up to play I have both sound and video issues. I first notices some popping at the intro video when they ended although no audio issues in the game itself. The video however is a mess. When I load a game it is slow to load but once it does the video window looks great but the control panel and inventory do not show up until I run the mouse cursor over it it's like painting the screen on with the mouse. Once I start moving through the game even the video screen experiences the "paint by numbers" issue. Any suggestions?

Thanks, CB

In order to fix the sound choppiness, I also fiddled with the blocksize and prebuffer values under the [mixer] category.

I set mine to:
blocksize=1024
prebuffer=30

Edges and Faces: Thats all there is to it
Every SketchUp model is made up of just two things: edges and faces. Edges are straight lines, and faces are the 2D shapes that are created when several edges form a flat loop. For example, a rectangular face is bound by four edges that are connected together at right angles. To build models in SketchUp, you draw edges and faces using a few simple tools that you can learn in a small amount of time. It's as simple as that.

Push/Pull: Quickly go from 2D to 3D
Extrude any flat surface into a three-dimensional form with SketchUp's patented Push/Pull tool. Just click to start extruding, move your mouse, and click again to stop. You can Push/Pull a rectangle into a box. Or draw the outline of a staircase and Push/Pull it into 3D. Want to make a window? Push/Pull a hole through your wall. SketchUp is known for being easy to use, and Push/Pull is the reason why.

Accurate measurements: Work with precision
SketchUp is great for working fast and loose in 3D, but it's more than just a fancy electronic pencil. Because you're working on a computer, everything you create in SketchUp has a precise dimension. When you're ready, you can build models that are as accurate as you need them to be. If you want, you can print scaled views of your model, and if you have SketchUp Pro, you can even export your geometry into other programs like AutoCAD and 3ds MAX.

Follow Me: Create complex extrusions and lathed forms
You use SketchUp's innovative, do-everything Follow Me tool to create 3D forms by extruding 2D surfaces along predetermined paths. Model a bent pipe by extruding a circle along an L-shaped line. Create a bottle by drawing half of its outline, then using Follow Me to sweep it around a circle. You can even use Follow Me to round off (fillet) edges on things like handrails, furniture and electronic gadgets.

Paint Bucket: Apply colors and textures
You can use SketchUp's Paint Bucket tool to paint your model with materials like colors and textures.

Groups and Components: Build smarter models
By "sticking together" parts of the geometry in your model to make Groups, you can create sub-objects that are easier to move, copy and hide. Components are a lot like Groups, but with a handy twist: copies of Components are related together, so changes you make to one are automatically reflected in all the others. Windows, doors, trees, chairs and millions of other things benefit from this behavior.

I have found so many questions in ccnp exam questions paper,

Thanks

Thanks DOSBox and thanks space cowboy. I took those CD's out of the closet and now hope to play Tex's adventures at ease on my lap(top)!

You can skip the batch file by putting the options directly into a shortcut. (Drives, maps and names according space cowboy and "tex_pd.conf" put into the DOSBox map - add its path otherwise):
1) Do NOT include the last 4 lines of the [autoexec] section of the config file at all.
2) Go to the Start Menu and locate the shortcut to the DOSBox. Hold down the CTRl key and drag and drop the shortcut onto the desktop (you should see a + sign while dragging).
3) Rename the shortcut to, say, "Pandora".
4) Right click the shortcut and select Properties. Type in the "Target" field after the text already present (do not remove this!):
C:\GAMES -conf tex_pd.conf -noconsole -fullscreen -exit
5) Change Icon...: use icon from first CD, as mentioned by space cowboy. OK.
6) Launch DOSBox from this shortcut and install (D:INSTALL).
7) After installation add "\PANDORA\PANDORA.BAT" after "C:\GAMES" in the shortcut properties. The whole line should now look something like this:
"C:\Program Files\DOSBox\dosbox.exe" C:\GAMES\PANDORA\PANDORA.BAT -conf tex_pd.conf -noconsole -fullscreen -exit

I have two problem so far:
- The tex4.zip patch file seems corrupt; it won't unpack. Let's hope I don't need it.
- Configuration screens are completely blank. Text appears only where I move the cursor, much like a black crayon covered picture with scratch tool. Collapsing the DOSBox into a window does show the complete image. And back to full screen the image remains until it goes blank again at the next screen. I use DOSBox 0.73 on both a Gigabyte M912X (XP SP3) and Desktop with NVIDIA ForceWare 91.31 on a GeForce Ti 4200 (XP SP3). Both having same problem!
